What should I wear?

Q: I wear glasses. How can I avoid a glare where my eyes should be?

A: To avoid glare, see if you can borrow an empty pair of frames from your optometrist or ask them how to remove the lenses. If this is not possible ask me about other anti-glare options.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Wear something you would normally wear, but make sure it is in good shape and fits. (Don't try to look like someone you're not, you won't be happy with your portraits.) In portraits you usually want to look like you on a great day.

Solid colors tend to photograph better than prints. Too many textures, prints, or colors can be distracting.

Keep it simple, the attention should go to you not your clothes.

Q: What should I do with my hair and/or makeup?

A: Avoid new hairstyles or having your hair cut or permed the week of your session.

Makeup should be the same as or slightly heavier than normal.

Keep in mind that beard stubble and tan lines cannot be retouched.

Q: Can I bring in my own props?

A: YES! Feel free to bring props with you, there is no way I could have everything everyone wants. (I just don't have the space.) Please ask me first if the prop is large or alive.

Suggestions:

Sports balls (basketball, football, etc.)

Uniforms

Trophies, Medals, Awards

Special/Favorite toys or books for children (this can also help with shyness around the camera or photographer)

Bring what helps express who you are!

Q: Are there any other session options?

A: Tell me what you need and I can usually figure something out.

Q: Can I get a print size or product that is not listed?

A: Tell me what you are looking for and I will find out if we can accomadate you.

Q: What proofing options are there?

A: You can view prints online here , or you can request 4x5 proofs.

A proof deposit is due when 4x5 proofs leave the studio. The deposit is a percentage of the total proof value.
This deposit is refendable when proofs are returned or can be applied to your order.

Q: When is the portrait balace due?

A: At least half of the portrait balance is due when you place your portrait order, the remaining balnce must be paid before portraits are picked up.

Q: How long will I have to wait for my proofs & prints?

A: Please allow one-two weeks for your proofs, and four to six weeks for your portrait order.

Q: Does the session fee apply to my portrait order & when do I pay it?

A: No, your session fee covers the time to take the portraits, any editing, and proofs (both forms of proofs cost me).

The session fee is due on the day of your appointment.
